Jeon Ji-hyun - Korean actress - the best one!

Jeon Ji-hyun (b. October 30, 1981) first became well-known as a commercial model and as a TV actress. Although she made her film debut in the little-watched White Valentine in 1999, it was not until later in the year when she was featured in an advertisement for an audio system that she became a popular sensation. The dancing and attitude expressed in the ad made her into an icon for Koreans in their late teens and early twenties.

After continuing her TV and modelling career, Jeon made her first well-publicized film appearance in late 2000 with Il Mare. A handsomely-shot melodrama set on Kanghwa Island, the film did respectably well at the box office (despite opening on the same day as JSA) and solidified her status as a star.

Jeon's breakout film was comedy My Sassy Girl, which became a huge hit both in Korea and throughout Asia with its tale of a gullible college student and his slightly unhinged girlfriend. The film spent two weeks at #1 in Hong Kong, and turned her into Korea's most recognizable star in the Chinese-language market. Two years then passed before she appeared in her next film, an "occult thriller" titled The Uninvited which wowed critics but failed to catch on with viewers. Throughout this time she was a constant presence in TV ads and on billboards in Korea and also in other Asian countries.

Important Step to koreas

South and North Korean writers have agreed to establish a joint body as part of efforts to promote reconciliation on their divided peninsula, officials said on Saturday (July 23).
The agreement came as writers of the two Koreas were having a six-day gathering in Pyongyang, the first such contact since the peninsula was divided into two 60 years ago.
On Wednesday, the two sides agreed to set up an inter-Korean writers' association to mark the historic summit between their leaders in 2000, officials accompanying the South Korean delegation said.
The 2000 summit touched off a flurry of rapprochement projects such as the reunions of separated families.
The writers agreed to award prizes to writers who contribute to inter-Korean reconciliation through the association, the officials said.
They also pledged to publish a joint magazine, tentatively titled "Unification Literature,¡± the officials said.
The South Korean writers are scheduled to return home Monday after their six-day trip.

Lord
On a chain of beautiful deserted islands in the middle of nowhere, the following people are stranded...
Two Italian men and one Italian woman
Two French men and one French woman
Two German men and one German woman
Two Greek men and one Greek woman
Two English men and one English woman
Two Bulgarian men and one Bulgarian woman
Two Japanese men and one Japanese woman
Two Irish men and one Irish woman
Two American men and one American woman.

One month later, on this absolutely stunning deserted island in the middle of nowhere, the following things have occurred....

One Italian man killed the other Italian man for the Italian woman.

The two French men and the French woman are living happily together in a ménage a trois.

The two German men have a strict weekly schedule of alternating visits with the German woman.

The two Greek men are sleeping with each other and the Greek woman is cleaning and cooking for them.

The two English men are waiting for someone to introduced them to the English woman.

The two Bulgarian men took one look at the Bulgarian woman and started swimming to a different island.

The two Japanese men faxed Tokyo and are waiting for instructions.

The two Irish men divided the island into North and South and set up a distillery. They do not remember if sex is in the picture because it gets somewhat foggy after a few liters of coconut whisky. However, they are happy because the English aren't having any fun.

The two American men are contemplating suicide because the American woman will not shut up and complains relentlessly about her body, the true nature of feminism, what the sun is doing to her skin, how she can do anything they can do, the necessity of fulfillment, the equal division of household chores, how sand and palm trees make her look fat, how her last boyfriend respected her opinions and treated her a lot better than they do, and how her relationship with her mother is the cause of all her problems, and why didn't they bring a cell phone with them so they could call 911 and get them all rescued from this godforsaken deserted island in the middle of nowhere... so she can get her nails done and go shopping.

(Love In An Elevator - Pump) Aerosmith

Workin' like a dog for the boss man
Workin' for the company
I'm bettin' on the dice I'm tossin'
I'm gonna have a fantasy

But where am I gonna look
They tell me that love is blind
I really need a girl like an open book
To read between the lines

(Chorus)
Love In An Elevator
Livin' it up whn I'm goin' down
Love In An Elevator
Lovin' it up till I hit the ground

Jackie's in the elevator
Lingerie second floor
She said 'can I see you later
And love you just a little more'

I kinda hope we get stuck
Nobody gets out alive
She said 'I'll show you how to fax
In the mailroom, honey
And have you home by five'

(Chorus)

In the air, in the air, honey one more time
Now it ain't fair
Love in an elevator
Lovin' it up when I'm goin' down

Love in an elevator
Goin' down

(Chorus)

Gonna be a penthouse pauper
Gonna be a millionare
I'm gonna be a real fast talker
And have me a love affair

Gotta get my timin' right
It's a test that I gotta pass
I'll chase you all the way to stairway, honey
Kiss your sassafrass

I love my country!

The Korean peninsula is blessed with beautiful scenery, a mild climate and fertile soil. Koreans have inhabited this propitious land for several millennia depending on agriculture as the major means of livelihood. Rice has been and still is the staple grain of Koreans.

From ancient times they have sowed seeds in the spring, nurtured rice plants in the summer. harvested crops in the autumn and preserved cereals through the winter. This cycle of farming has become part of Korean culture and influenced many of the customs of the Korean people.

While engaging in agriculture, Koreans deve1oped annual events and found it convenient to observe according to the lunar calendar. It was at the turn of the century that the Gregorian calendar was introduced to Korea, setting the standard for all official events, yet some events and customs of traditional origin are still observed on lunar days.

Sol (New Year Day) and Ch'usok (Korean Thanksgiving Day) are the most typical of the traditional events observed by the lunar calendar The length of the four seasons, composed of 24 solar terms, is determined by the orbital motion of the earth around the sun, but for ancient Koreans the position of the moon around the earth was much important, for it marked the season's change and important dates for agriculture. The moon has been a familiar companion of people, playing its role as a guide in the farming schedule and illuminating dark nights to invoke an aesthetic sensitivity to mother nature.

Among the important dates that Koreans observe by the lunar calendar, four stand out as an important part of Koreans' customs. They are Hanshik (a day of cold food) , Tano, Ch'usok(Korean Thanksgiving Day) and New Year Day.

Lovely day

I can’t tell you what a delight it is to finally have a real garden. I spent a while today just sitting in the sunshine outside and letting the warmth seep into my bones. I think warmth and sunshine all year round would be nice, but it wouldn’t be anything special. It’s part of my philosophy of life that—no matter how unpleasant it is—you have to experience the ‘downs’ to really appreciate the ‘ups’.

Anyway, sitting outside today—looking at my newly planted flowers, watching the butterflies chasing one another around, the blue tits visiting my bird feeder and enjoying the smell of growth—was definitely one of the ‘ups’.

Today

Today I got very happy, well, let me tell you, I was walking down the street when I saw a person who neened help, it was a lady whose grandchildren had fell on the ground but she couldn´t help the kid, so, when I came close and helped the kid, the woman was so thankful that it made my day for ages, :)
